Vacheron Constantin

Metiers d'art

Tonight I had a chance to marvel at a jaw-dropping collection from Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers - a department creating bespoke, one-of-a-kind timepieces.

In collaboration with the Louvre Museum, the watches pay tribute to four great ancient civilizations:

- Neo- Assyria (Persia/Mesopotamia)
- Egypt
- Greece
- Roman Empire

The first set was introduced in 2022. Earnest collectors had to wait four years before it was succeeded by a similar set in 2026. Needless to say, the latter featured even more impressive production techniques. They are metiers d'art pieces using delicate enameling, precious stones and mosaic tiles.

5 sets were offered in the first creation, which were, predictably, all sold out. This time,15 sets are produced in the 2026 offering.

Now, which pieces capture your eyes? (I want them all....)

2026 Neo-Assyria

2026 Egypt (note the Hieroglyphs)

2026 Roman Empire

2026 Greece

2022 - Neo-Assyria

2022 Greece (Winged Victory of Samothrus)

2022 Roman Empire (Augustus Caesar)

2022 Egypt (The Sphinx of Giza)

The only regret is I cannot hold them in my hands....
