Important Caveat....
Thank you for your input, Bill. I'm honored the Forum Moderator has chosen to offer up his much-valued perspective!
One caveat, though, is that the size of the case in the new Malte Tonneau VC currently offers is significantly larger (50" x 40") than the 40" x 37" dimensions of the Royal Eagle. For me (and only for me), that makes the Royal Eagle a much preferable watch to wear on my wrist. I don't think that excessively large tonneau watches (especially if they are more angular and square-ish than the more sculpted Royal Eagle case) sit well with me.
As an example, I always loved (and once owned) the G.O. Senator Karee (Cal. 22 manual), which had a modestly-sized, sculpted tonneau case much like the Royal Eagle. That's a key reason why I find the Royal Eagle such an attractive tonneau design....not to mention the historically significant Frederic Piguet movement that resides inside the Chronograph's case.
