Beautiful dial and bezel; looks like hammered white gold.
The dial says: "VACHERON & CONSTANTIN" which would indicate a more vintage piece...perhaps 1970's.
In that case the movement may be a Calibre 1001 or 1003.
But Dan is right.
The case S/N is in the inside of the case back alond with other info. The movement S/N is on the movement along with the Vacheron name and logo.
I'm surprised VC "down under" wouldn't help you!
Any watchmaker can take the back off.
Have your camera handy, preferably with a macro lens to take some pics.

If it is a very thin automatic, I would guess that it uses the marvelous cal 1121 movement. If there is nothing inscribed on the back, then all the information about the ref. #, case #, and movement must be obtained by removing the case back. With the cas...

1121 movement and the numbers you need should be inside the caseback (which you should have a professional watchmaker remove). Bill

The dial says "AUTOMATIC" so I would expect to see caliber 1121.
And from that period, very probably with a Gyromax balance. Vacheron made a lot of unusual dials during that period.
