From 1943
The use of steel and 14k gold trim reflected wartime austerity but the gilt dial added an optimistic splash. The watch is no longer with me but I am happy to have experienced it. It was obtained from a relative of the original owner and, so far as I'm able to tell, has passed through three more hands since. I dearly hope it sees some wrist time.
