Evolution of watches and cars!

Growing up I was always fascinated by both watches and cars… there is something special about the way both can make you feel. The research and development that goes in to both is incredible and both have evolved substantially over time. Yesterday I was lucky enough to be invited to a Ferrari event where we were able to test drive the new 296 GTB, a new Ferrari which has a hybrid engine, the baby V12 as they call it. It’s a shame we are having to say good bye to the real thrilling sounds of V12s and V8s, but I have to say Ferrari have done a stunning job trying to bring hybrid technology to the new car. I was thinking what watch to wear to the event… I recently purchased this American 1921 and to be honest I couldn’t think of a more perfect watch to pair with the event - a traditional watch for a modern car. The American 1921 is a nod to the old world… I found most people at the Ferrari day wearing PPs or Rolexes, but I have to say this VC 1921 was a real conversation starter. This is the first time I am wearing this watch and I had several people ask me about the watch and I really appreciated the conversation that followed. What a great day!

The 296 has been getting great reviews overall, unlike the Artura to make a more or less direct comparison.
