I was in Las Vegas, at a trade show, and had in my mind I was going home Thursday because that’s when my hotel checkout was. But the plane ticket was a day earlier.
Normally on Southwest Airlines you would have to buy another ticket, but I appealed to the manager who confessed that she had been at a family reunion, forgot which day her flight was, and showed up at the airport a day late. Being ticketing manager, for her it wasn’t a big problem but humiliating, so she let me on without penalty.
