I would agree that the Sonata is head and shoulders above the rest.
The Sonata, besides being melodious, has the advantage of different functions that set off the alarm, a specific time or the count down function.
It is constructed such that the alarm sounds for a MINIMUM of sixty seconds but mine goes for well over (about 80 seconds). The Cathedral is far and away better then the Sonata 1 as it is louder and bolder. The alarm can truly be heard from across the room and yes, it has awaken me when from a deep sleep. i make it even more special, I believe that Reynaud and Papi make the chiming ring for the watch, that makes it even more special.
I think that anyone thinking about the Sonata should sample other alarms to truly understand how wonderful it is and why it is such a great watch. Oh, BTW, with the Cathedral be sure to turn it over and watch the striking hammer do it's thing.
