Sorry to hear about your problem. I've got the same watch and have just sent it in for servicing along with my Blue Wave (going in for the 3rd (!) time for sticking at full wind :( ).
The loss of 4 hrs at new year turnover puts me in mind of the issue I'm facing. At new year, all 4 date indicators have to change - a major power-eater. If your watch was at low wind at the time, this could explain the problem. How does your watch normally keep time? Any other issues?
I've noticed that my watch keeps good time, has no problems over date changes, and runs a full 51 hrs after a full wind. My problem is that on the wrist and on the winder (Orbita at 1300 turns/day) it doesn't wind the watch efficiently. In fact, after 7 days on the winder, it only ran 105 MINUTES before stopping - clearly a problem with the Automatic winding mechanism.
If your watch had a similar problem and it was not on a winder keeping it powered through the new year change, it may have been at low wind as it crossed over the date change and ran down as it went through that power-intensive task.
good luck (and wish me the same!)
