  • This service provides software for upgrading D3200 C firmware to ver. 1.02 . This software allows for updating the C firmware to the latest version. If the latest versions of C firmware are already installed on your D3200, you need not proceed with download or installation of this firmware upgrade.
  • This will overwrite any previously installed firmware version.
  • Current firmware versions can be verified from the Firmware version item in the camera's setup menu.
Updates included with this release - C:1.03, January 21, 2014
  • The camera now supports display of error messages when lenses with a retractable lens mechanism (e.g., AF-S DX NIKKOR 18–55mm f/3.5–5.6G VR II) are used. An error message is displayed and the shutter cannot be released when the lens barrel is retracted.

Updates included with C: 1.02

  • Remaining battery charge is now accurately detected for Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL14a.
With C firmware Ver. 1.01, the number of images that can be captured (battery life) when an EN-EL14a is used is less than when an EN-EL14 is used. By upgrading C firmware to Ver. 1.02, EN-EL14a performance is maximized so that more images can be captured (battery life) than when an EN-EL14 is used.

Number of shots possible with the EN-EL14a (rated capacity:  DC 7.2 V, 1230 mAh; with D3200 C:1.02)
Single-frame release mode:  Approximately 600 shots (CIPA standard*)
Continuous release mode:  Approximately 2250 shots (Nikon standard*)
*See the D3200 User’s Manual for details on test conditions.

Updates included with C:1.01

  • The following functions have been changed with shooting using the Wireless Mobile Utility.
    • When the camera's shooting mode is set to Auto or Auto (flash off), it now operates in Auto or Auto (flash off) mode. Prior to this upgrade, the camera functioned in [P] (Programmed auto) exposure mode.
    • Live view can now be initiated even when the camera is set to "Auto" or "No flash" in GUIDE mode.
  • In some very rare cases when certain memory cards were used, movie recording would stop, even when the time remaining display indicated remaining recording time. This issue has been resolved.
  • In some very rare cases, colors would change with shooting when white balance was set to a specific color temperature, as with Preset manual or Incandescent. This issue has been resolved.
