Makes me think on my uncle—Pacific flying ace in WW II. Here's his Navy photo when he got his "wings." He was nineteen. What you see in those eyes could fill a book!
Now 95, he still does all the driving!

As an adult, understanding the monumental sacrifices and achievements of all in the NASA programs does not diminish the importance of this day. Remembering where I was 50 years ago, brings a smile to the face.
