Sunrise and Sea, Part 2 (on land)

Pelican mailbox seems a good place to start.

Some of my favorite creatures -- the honeybee -- hard at work on this yucca flower cluster!

We are between the bay and the ocean, looking south towards Mexico, across the salt water estuary.

We have always found hummingbirds here -- today about 20 of them!

And three no four rabbits. Two stayed to have their pictures taken.

This is the first whose mom didn't teach him to run... the second will come later.

All of 8 o'clock, we've been out exploring for over 2 hours.

As we are right on the border we can see planes coming and going from the Tijuana International Airport.

This is a Firecracker bush.

Here's rabbit 4 (the other 2 got away)

I guess this could be #5

If the rabbits are just a bit smaller, they could be breakfast for this hawk (I will look up his proper name in a moment)

Here's looking at you, kid!

Yes, I walked right up and stared at him from the bottom of the tree.

We also looked down this web into the spider's den! It looked back at us.

Sadly, we could not find any rattlesnakes!

Part 3 will include urban scenes of architecture and other man-made delights. Please read at your own risk!
