Recent trip to Jeruzalem ๐ธ๐ฎ
The flag might appear a bit confusing for some when paired with the name but I am talking about a famous wine growing village in Slovenia, population 31 ๐
Very serene and peaceful and we were lucky to be able to dine alfresco in early March already. The village right before is called the Iron Gates, so there seems to be a historical tongue in cheek there somewhere ๐
The local white is a delight ๐
And this is where it is coming fromโฆ
After lunch the weather rapidly changed (fortunately not too soon) ๐จ
And here a final famous local landmark, an over 500 years old chestnut tree - unfortunately we were not in season ๐ฐ

The wine is lovely and there seems to be a decent spa resort there, too but didnโt visit that yet ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ

The wine growing areas are largely going through a renaissance in terms of attractiveness recently ๐๐ป

Traminer, a so called Italian Riesling, Rhine Riesling, ล ipon, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Muscat Otonel and I probably missed a couple ๐

Agreed - started raining quite heavily at that point so only a quick shot from the car but a proper look around is definitely on the cards next time ๐

I am not sure if I'm more impressed by the number of stickers or by the fact that the locals won't remove them. My kind of place and the wine looks fine too!

The wine was definitely tasty. Meaning my wife drove back ๐
In my case I have to choose between stick or wine
My wife can drive both (a rarity over here) but a glass of wine after a nice day of driving tastes even better.

There are some nice windy roads all over the place, so one can definitely enjoy a warm up drive before the glass of wine.
