Grand Canyon West is not part of the National Park system (i.e. Grand Canyon South Rim) and is on Native American Indian Reservation land so entry fee is significant higher. I agree that the SkyWalk is pricey and the worse thing is that you can't take your own pics while on it. We stayed overnight at the Hualapai Ranch, the food was pretty bad but what totally made the trip was watching the sunrise.
Have you been to the South Rim? I was just there and it was spectacular!
