TimeOut

Part 3 for everyone else

We took a break from reporting to go to a garden party ... now I am back and finishing the report! Enjoy a photo of the Presidio at long range (which we never actually reached today):

We were relatively close, if we were birds...

We took the left fork and that took us away from the Presidio.

BTW we also saw rabbits, squirrels, hummingbirds and some homeless guys, but didn't get anything with the camera.

These are an obscure variety of Rose, or so I was told

Iris rising from the Roses

San Diego topography is canyon (here) and mesa (where the houses are) and a few homes straddling both.

One misstep here and you are down in the nasturiums with no way back up

Largest staghorn fern my wife has ever seen. Worth thousands, like a tropical Rolex.

We left the canyons and hit the sidewalks...

Remember what I said about canyons, mesas, and houses that straddle them? We stopped in briefly at the garden party, but on our way home spotted this enormous tree:

which drew my eye to this cliff-hanging house!

by walking up an incredibly steep and narrow alleyway we were able to rise almost to the level of the house for these photos.

Here's the view. Apparently the entire house is below street level, except for one little box.

By stepping onto a front entry walk we could see this art and the house and the view:

Their watch cat found us and gave us some love...

Then we walked down the hill and drove around until we found the "little box". This is it:

We hope you enjoyed today's adventures.
