I'll be getting one but not if I had ipad1 already...

The only improvements are thinner, lighter, faster, camera.

The ipad1 is already thin and light enough to carry around. It's not like the difference between a DSLR and pocket sized cameras.

The speed difference may be huge, but ipad1 copes with existing apps well. It's not going to make a huge difference unless app complexity grows multi-fold.

So that leaves the camera, only if you want to do video/Favetime chats in it would be necessary.

Having said that, if you don't have an ipad1 already, it's time to get the ipad2.

You can consider this a mid-year upgrade I guess. Did watch an Engadget video of hands-on with ipad2 and the speed improvements are impressive for a handheld. I am still blown away at how fast Iphone 4 is compared to 3G. Does anyone really need a tablet? ...

If the changes are similar to the iPad Touch compared to the current generation one, the speed and slight mods is definitely worth the upgrade. I've yet to use face time but I can see how that would be a nice feature. -MW
