They tolerate us coming close, though never landing on a finger ... best estimate of my wife is 5 different Jays this year. They seem to have scared off the parrots...
Maybe the hawks are why they keep moving all the time...
Update on our Wild Kingdom
This bird says his foot hurts... can some sympathy be given? I put out some peanuts and the foot is miraculously healed. The neighbor's tortoise 'Dug' did as his name implies, and was able to escape from his enclosure! My wife hunted all around the canyon...
