I to was raised in a house with lots off oriental rugs, and had a few when I moved out.
My wife, then girlfriend, did not like the "old stuffy things", so I foolishly let them go, when we moved together.
Some years ago I lured my wife to a auctionhouse,- by some miracle, she surrendered, and I duly proceeded
to recarpet the house 
. Now I'm all over the place with persian, turkmenistan and caucasion pieces.

Sadly, my childhood carpets have all flown away over the years, but an old Armenian "Eagle" landed on my doorstep a few years ago.
