We Don't Need A Theme Park
We live reasonably near to the San Diego Zoo and the Sea World, but haven't been to either of them in about 10 years. Why?
Because we have discovered Nature's Own, as you have undoubtedly noticed in our morning walks. Today was a great reminder of the joys of the outdoors. Monday, October 21 getting on into Fall, yet we have 75° F and 50% humidity with sunshine. We walked only about 5000 steps today -- let me show you what we found.
It was High Tide in the San Diego River and Mission Bay, and the fishing looked like it was good for this Western Grebe:

Luckily the Garibaldi (state fish) were too large for him...
Over in the river it seemed the Brown Pelicans were having a good day too

This guy should not be fishing here, it's a restricted area. He could be arrested.

The squirrels were aghast! A human fisherman?

No!

Even the lizards were shocked!

Both of them.
CLOSED AREA, it says.
Back over in the bay, the cormorants had been exercising squatter's rights over a small vessel. And their bowels.

Sea lions on the buoy.

And the dock. Apparently they do whatever they want, with no regard for human "ownership" of these facilities.

People are restricted to this tall tower, or so the City insists.

The Signs also say no living in your vehicle, but apparently some people can't read.
We are allowed to sit on park benches, paddle ourselves around,

Standing Up or Sitting Down

Sail boats in and out of the harbor

But I draw the line at driving a convertible with the two back windows up! Really, what is he thinking? Too busy texting to listen to my outraged shout of advice, "Roll em down!"

Oops, woke a sleepy cat. Sorry puss.
We saw a bunch of birds up in the trees nodding wisely in agreement with my automotive style advice.

This guy bent his neck into a question mark "What was that Mustang driver thinking?"

We took one last look at the beautiful sleepy river,

and headed homeward for a late lunch.
