Walking on the Quiet Side

It was strangely still on the campus where my wife used to work. Not many walking around, fewer studying (library not open til 11am!), only a few athletes. But the weather was good, we walked where we’d never been before, and hummingbirds were almost everywhere.

Perimeter path doubles as cross-country training route.

Deferred maintenance in some places!

Greek Theatre dates back to 1902… I was here in 69-73 (~70 years later and 50+ years ago?!!)

Standing in the same location as the shot above, below you can see the long reach of a 600mm zoom lens!

Not a bad place for athletes.

My wife’s former office, overlooking the tennis courts.

America’s Most Scenic Ballpark (better than a cornfield)

Girls yelling at each other were a much louder and more aggressive than I remember, back when I was watching a certain brunette, also basketball player...

Of course kids are depressed nowadays! They have to do all this AND save the planet. Back in the day, the goal was to try not to drink or smoke too much, go to class occasionally, and graduate in 5-6 years...

This architecture dates to the Sixties

This is much newer, and a bit flashy.

Ah, back to the olde stuff, like this pepper tree.

This is a small chapel but it misses the mark in my opinion (can’t see out anywhere)

Some hummers for you?

Buzzers too.

Butterflies

All sorts of flying objects were spotted.

Time on the B&R

Zoom to the ocean and we see fishermen dropping traps.

Looks like an old bird having a bad hair day.

The gal in the back on the grass was pretending to study but looking at the water half the time. My wife a happy camper (retired)

Lizards at home glad to see us and didn’t bother running for cover.

Thanks for coming along.
