He always said he was very lucky on D Day as where he was put ashore was relatively quiet considering the carnage elsewhere and they quickly moved inland. He wasn’t so lucky at the allied invasion of Sicily where he was wounded and hospitalised. He was in...

. . . (which was how his friends called him) was taken on Utah beach at the 65th anniversary celebration. He passed away not long after that photo was taken. Art
