Strange Views from the Airplane
Sep 30, 2022,22:07 PM
I got a few nice photos from 3D and 7A which raised a question for pilots and frequent fliers. We were heading south, 30,000 feet or so. I was on the left looking east, sun was setting in the west. Here's what I saw -- an image of our plane on the clouds, with an aura around it. The vision moved along with us until the clouds disappeared. Is anyone familiar with this kind of reflection?
The rest are images of Mt Rainier, the famous mountain SE of Seattle.

I guess what they said was "it was an observed but not exactly fully-understood phenomenon". Good enough for me. Cheers, Miek
