I caught my first US Navy Ship in Trieste(USS Deyo). Beautiful city and fun ship. Next day while standing watch and escorting local people on the ship, we had a couple who just got married come and ask to take pictures on the Deyo. Of course we obliged, but the poor lady tore up her dress on our non-skid deck.

I wonder how the ghost of Amerigo Vespucci feels about the new name some people are using for the gulf that's south of the US. To some of us, it would be welcome if it were a tribute to Amerigo himself!
