I didn’t paid much attention to Tag Heuer new releases this year until I heard a co-worker mentioned that the new Glassbox chronographs are quite nice in the metal. Therefore I decided to visit my local Tag Heuer boutique a few days ago to take a look at them.
I have to say this new chronograph is very well made and feels very good and compact on the wrist. The glassbox style sapphire crystal looks especially nice. And the tweaks Tag Heuer made to the case makes it slimmer and much more enjoyable to wear than the various Carrera 1964 reissues due to the shorter lug to lug length. From my memory of trying the Heuer 02 movement, the tactile feel and actuation of the pushers in this updated movement feels better. Although finishing of this movement is less appealing and more industrial looking than the Heuer 02.
The asking price is quite reasonable too. I have been thinking about the reverse panda the past few days. The more I look at it, the more I like it. I usually don’t like date on a chronograph but the date window at 12 here, I find that it gives a certain personality to the watch.
