TAG Heuer

Browsing watch related topics last night, I came across a watch that looked like a classic of the first all steel, integrated bracelet decade of the 1970s but was neither as well known, or as widely spread as the \'top 4\' from the pens of Genta or Hysek....

And now when time has passed, 70s are more and more accepted as "real vintage"... Considering most of the "classic vintage" 1940s-1960s are hard to find... I think we will see more and more 1970s collectors in the future! Best Blomman

That's why I have been looking into those decades, too. Not everything that would fit my taste but the odd very interesting piece... And the 1970s are definitely the funkiest decade, IMHO

So much more to learn I suppose Heuer did not make the cases themselves but they did often have certain exclusivity contracts with their suppliers, although possibly not for the Cortina. Same timeframe, I take it?

....from 1977 to 1980. Most Yacht Club II were produced with Quartz movements, the ones with the automatic 3254 movement (based on Jaeger LeCoultre 889) were only produced in very limited numbers, probably some 300-400 pieces only.

I did not manage to find what the production numbers of the Cortina have been but would assume quite a bit higher than that...

I wasn't familiar with this model. Dial is quintessential Heuer but I'm feeling some AP lines goin' on in the case and bracelet. Perhaps it's just my aging eyes ; )

The similarity is definitely there...
