1968 Heuer Carrera Skipper versus 2023 Tag Heuer Skipper.
Close but no cigar.
While the 1968 Heuer Skipper still is my dream, a grail, even, the 2023 is cool, but could have been even better.
For the 2023 edition, they should have kept it simple:
Remove the unnecessary text, just keep Heuer Skipper, at 12. Remove " Skipper on the sub dial at 9 o clock, the Swiss mention at 6 AND, of course, which is my main problem, the date!
The size of the 2023 version is good, with a 39 mm diameter, the thickness, just below 14 mm is ok.
The good point, the movement, which has a power reserve of 80 hours. Twice more than for the vintage, and which is automatic.
Not bad, though.

For some reason the word “Tag”
annoys me too 😂. I own two with the word Tag on the dial, but wish they went back to Heuer only. There’s not a ton of love for Tag Heuer by many high horological collectors, but I like some of them obviously 😁 ...
I Agree
I love Heuer but never liked TAG. They struck me as a stepping stone to a nice watch (at least in the states where I lived).
