Jul 07, 2010,11:38 AM

To celebrate Chopard’s 150 years, Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, Co-President and Artistic Director, has dreamed up 150 Haute Joaillerie creations that celebrate animals, and Chopard Japan also introduced another three new  L.U.C XP with Urushi dials by the top Urushi Master, Mr. Kiichiro Masumura, and then applied gold maki-e by Yamada Heiando, a top purveyor of tableware to the Japanese Imperial Household, aligned to the animal and nature theme.

With the promising well-received launch of the L.U.C XP with Urushi dials 2009 Collection ( please click here to view  ) , here are the snapshots of the L.U.C XP with Urushi dials 2010 Collection, and thanks to Chopard Japan for the naming.

Earth, sky, and water. The three symbols of medium on the planet. Beautiful pieces, my favorite of the trio is the one that depicts the goldfishes. Great looking collection!

ohhhh...

i absolutely luv the earth, the urashi finish appears more understated than enamel but has more warmth looking forward to seeing them in metal~ cheers, Ed~

Does you location have them?

Hello Ed Hope you are well. If your location does not have them, nearest would be Japan. I also wonder if Hong Kong has them too. Must see them in metal. Kong

very few unique models in Taiwan

Hi Kong, wishing u all the best too! I doubt we ll have these models for show here, also its not as convenient checking out rare birds here given boutiques reluctantly show them to window shoppers. Frankly, one is consider lousy customer if he/she ask to ...

Really?!

That's not the way to treat prospects. It saddens me if that's the case, in your area. Please PM me if such cases happen with the Chopard Boutique there. Take care Ed. Kong

The goldfish dial is my favourite.

But Chopard needs to do 5 goldfish for chinese collector. Four (4) goldfish - means dead fish in Chinese. Regards Ling

4 vs. 5 in Japanese / Chinese

 By: MTF : July 7th, 2010-22:18
Ling, As was mentioned in the report, the 'Water' series comes with either 4 or 5 fish. I was puzzled too, because whe we were living in Japan, we found that even the tableware and chopsticks came in sets of 5....the homonym of '4' also means death in Jap...

Perhaps, for the fish...

 By: masterspiece : July 8th, 2010-01:11
it may be that there are three vs one, three on the bottom and one at the top. In japanese culture, odd numbers seem to be the norm in life and design. Although there may be a total of four fish, could it be it was designed as a three vs one? Or maybe...i...

You are right ...

According to Chopard Japan, 5-goldfish is for the Chinese market. However, 4-goldfish, is NOT considered to inauspicious in Japan. Kong

Thanks for the post. These photos are just great! I love the colors but the detail is what really blows me away. Very cool works of art on micro engineered works of art. Aloha, Bob

Hi TheWatcher Thanks for viewing. Any of pieces from the 2009 or 2010 caught your attention? Kong

they are stunning

 By: ChristianDK : July 9th, 2010-05:02
I really like them. The dials are stunning and the watches seem very well proportioned with 39 mm. Paticularly the yg pieces seem to work well witn these dials. the CHOPARD logo seems a bit exaggerated in the photos but I would expect it to be less "distu...

Thanks for viewing and the inputs. I agree with you the logo is a bit in the way. Currently, the pieces, the logo was printed white on the second surface of the sapphire. It would be a great idea to etch /microblasted so that the logo is translucent inste...
