Anything stiffer and thicker than 1.5mm might need curved pins.

I've been playing with the idea of getting a leather nato, the one I have in mind is quoted at 1.2mm thick.

That’s quite a handsome piece. Strap options could be a bit more limited but there are some clever people out there. I seen a custom denim strap for a PRX I think and it looked great.
