What is the perfect watch for a very hot day?
Jul 08, 2018,16:34 PM
We seem to be having a global heat wave this week! Northern hemisphere anyway, so here's a PuristS challenge: What is the perfect watch for a scorchingly hot day?
My first thought is no watch, then my second thought is a diver watch so I could stay underwater in somebody's swimming pool.
Third thought, since I had to eat, was a very light, bracelet watch. Quartz so I don't get heated up by the energy to wind it. I grabbed one and headed for a cold drink and two BLT sandwiches.
Not forgetting two servings of veg and fruit.
Now to find a swimming pool! .... wife texts neighbors 2 houses down, and they reply "We are gone, use the pool. Pick some fruit. Take some tomatoes"
Grab my suit and go find the pool deck is 45º C ~ 112º F. Ouch.
It's much cooler in the pool, and you can see I changed to a titanium Scuba 200M diver
I can't read it without my glasses anyway, but I know it's at least 100% cooler!
I splash around for awhile, cooling down, and try not to get my phone wet.
Somehow those casual posing shots of slacks and shoes don't have the same impact underwater, especially when one's feet cause over-exposure!
I snatch a few tomatoes and head for my underground lair where the temperature is always moderate.
Cheers,
