Spring Drives I have known and loved
After the story of Robin’s new Spring Drive, I am re-engaging with my Spring Drives as I read and see more of them on wrists!
His article made me dig around in my photo archives to see “the fleet” and how it has ebbed and flowed.

SBGA001 was the first one I bought 20 years ago, April 13 2005. Champagne dial but overall a bit bland.

The Snowflake came later in 2006 (still have it)

The very first Seiko Spring Drive top right was released in 1999; I got this one in August 2005 but didn’t like the rattly integrated bracelet so I sold it on. “If I had known then what I know now…” I would have kept it.

Credor Spring Drive Moon arrived on my wrist November 2006 (still have it)

The Galante came in 2008. I must have been drinking…
45mm plus about 18mm tall! After I hit a few doorways with the watch I found it a new home (and my Panerai too).

This manual wind Credor Spring Drive was next after a gap of a few years. I think it arrived 2012 but it was made much earlier.

After that one came I went to the Seiko Epson factory and saw them being put together.

Finally last Fall this NOS Seiko Spring Drive arrived in a complicated multi-step deal, but moved along to another WPS guy shortly thereafter, partially because I already had a Spring Drive Moon (as my wife helpfully noticed and pointed out…)
