Today, three new creations with planetary motifs join the Seiko Astron GPS Solar collection. Each watch has a different color for its dial; the Sun-inspired creation contains a gray base color, which is complemented by a gold color inspired by the Sun, while the Earth-inspired watch is colored in deep blue. The Moon-inspired creation is colored in deep grey.

New dial with celestial motif

The dial features a new pattern resembling fine grains of sand, calling to mind the surface of a planet. Its deep blue color is inspired by a view of the Earth as seen from the heavens (grey for moon & gold tone for sun). The hour and minute hands feature a new shape with skeletonized center sections. Together with the imposing indexes, they enhance legibility.

Sharp case design with a futuristic bezel

The bezel features a two-layered construction combining different metals. The lower layer is subtly visible through six notches in the upper layer, expressing a futuristic look with its advanced design. Additionally, the beveled bracelet creates a luxurious shine with edges that stand out.

Given the pushers. And with a quartz a perpetual calendar going beyond 2100. But in all honesty I cannot imagine someone treasuring this one beyond that point Cool trio!

I like solar charging a lot

more than battery replacement…a real toss up in some ways between fully mechanical and spring drive….I prefer mechanical (especially the Omega 8900 / 9900 series because of gauss) but a real case can be made for solar.

I agree - efficiency improvements mean it’s now taken over from Kinetic -will it someday replace single-use batteries?
