Question about the auto rotor
I've always thought of the fully round titanium rotors in the SBGJ005 and SBGJ021 as being superior to the standard rotors; Seiko claims it handles shocks better, delivering less stress to the bearings of the oscillating weight. I wished they would use them in more of the limited edition models. It makes sense to me that if you have a top-of-the-line VFA movement, you'd want your best auto rotor design along with it.
As an aside, I wish the platinum and gold GSs had an option for full metal bracelets. The price would be insane, but it would make the timepieces a lot more extroverted/sporty and give another opportunity to showcase Seiko's finishing prowess.
Overall, love the brand and always enjoy seeing them release new models. Thank you for the coverage and great pics! I recently had a get-together with some watchmaker friends who regularly work on Omega, Rolex, etc. They univerally agree that Grand Seikos are the most impressive timepieces they've seen recently.

The live photos are quick. Even quicker is the Grand Seiko Hi Beat Blue watch that my watch buddy in Singapore would love. I must tell him as it has all the features he was wishing for last week. Now they appear on a watch. Regards MTF

If I go for the 20th anniversary 9S series, I would go for the SS blue dial/ blue full rotor...
.. but blue ceramic one may be a bit too bulky although it is VERY light on your wrist. That is amazing....

The yellow gold Special Edition Looks nice, but the prices difference to the Steel Version is too steep for me. I think The blue ceramic Looks nice, except for the blue links in the bracelet and it's probably too big. Leaves the blue Steel Limited Edition...

Well, the fully round rotor theory is interesting. That may be true - then again, there are "peripheral rotor" and the fully round rotor does block the view..... That must be a big dilemma at Seiko design department As for the full metal bracelet - I alwa...

Accompanied by great pictures, as always The only thing I am slightly sad about is that the VFA comes in platinum only. But the development is definitely in the right direction overall. Let’s see if another GS is on the cards this year...
