Seiko

New day new watch - with an outstanding movement!

I've done some shenanigans with my collection once again, this time trading up my Skyflake to this White Birch. The reason was simple, one has the 9SA5 and the other does not, also the Skyflake doesn't quite have an identity in the collection as it gets completely outclassed by my Credor as a dress watch, hence I felt this was a logical upgrade. As I bought them through my favourite dealer, I didn't lose a cent in value nor bargaining power and he allowed me to simply pay the difference + a few hundred dollar discount. All in all, I got this 2021 white birch at a total of 4600USD, which is great for me but also hurts as this watch is easily worth it's retail price of 9100USD. I guess I'll be alternating between this and the 5230g for next few months and then post a proper review.

Polished and hairline finished to perfection. The hairline is incredibly fine, finer than omega and reminds me of a 5711.

Dual impulse escapement, 80 hour power reserve high beat movement in a 11.7mm case, Grand Seiko really outdid themselves and told every other high beat manufacturer to stay in their lane!
