Introduction to Credor - in search of perfection

There have been some questions in my Credor series about how and where the watches are made. I've answered briefly by providing reference posts. But I would like to share some photos today that show the "jewelry" side of Credor production. These were taken when I was visiting Japan a few years ago.

Because some gold smelting and finishing and firing are going on here, it's more like a foundry than a clean room!

Preparing the watch for jewel setting

Polished gold bracelets and cases set with diamonds

Picking up diamonds with tweezers requires great dexterity. The bracelet and case are bolted to his fixture and he is setting the diamonds into the case. Notice the huge baking tray underneath so when those diamonds do slip out, they don't bounce to the floor.

Some of the decorations on the rotors, plates and bridges

Inspection of the finished bracelet

A close look at the actual dial / watch case and its diamonds

IN CONCLUSION

I am posting this photo because I have never seen such a concentrated example of obsession.

When ordering or fitting men's and women's gold or platinum watches, which are being built to order, it's critical to get the mesh bracelet sizing correct the first time - otherwise much time and money can be wasted; too little and you can't wear the watch, too much and you have spent money buying precious metal they will have to trim off somehow.

Why waste your money, and the time and effort of the Micro Arts Studio craftsmen and women. You do it the right way, using a Credor woven strand bracelet fitting guide:

I found an entire article written by akable, owner of this great tool set. I'm going to provide the link to his story so you can read it for yourself if you are interested...

I need to be friends with the people you are friends with, Cazalea! Thanks for the photos and insights; particularly like the bracelet sizing tool - that's genius. I can compare this to how Rolex has sizing tools to fit customers with the correct length o...

Good question! (nt)
