I'm not sure what your question is... do you prefer the smaller watch?

Just a general piece of advice on GS that you can take to the bank -- they will continue to release watches that its customers want but when it suits them. And they will continue to release special editions as they see the need. There's virtually no such thing as a unique, never repeated, special limited edition.
In the last decade, GS has released about 500 different models. Here's a list I built before I was worn down by all the new releases!
Other than the Snowflake, and maybe one or two others, NO GS is a commonly-known or seen, you can be sure of that. There just aren't enough of them compared to the world population of high-quality watches.
This model you are asking about is a rare configuration in that it has a blue dial, with no power reserve on the front, in a 44GS case (style, not size). It's being issued in a series of 1500 which is a very large number (limited editions of 50, 100, 300 are what I would call rare). Another factor to consider is what country you are in, because many GS models are country-specific or available only in certain regions.
Regarding size, viertually all of the Spring Drive models are 40mm and larger. Just a few manual wind models without dates and power reserve fall into the 37.5-39.5mm range.
