Humble start to the GS journeyโ€ฆ

While the excitement (and drooling) started with the SBGH035 for me (posted the other day), the first to actually make it onto my wrist was the humbler SBGX097. With its subtle green dial (a bit ahead of time in 2015, when I got it and often hard to capture), super accurate 9F movement (while I used to track it at under 2 seconds fast a year) and lovely, thin proportions, a winner in spite of being close to the bottom of the low king order of GS.

Now time to go give it a fresh battery ๐Ÿ”‹๐Ÿ˜

That dial is fantastic.

There is something very satisfying about high precision quartz movements, while very different I get a huge amount of pleasure from getting my aerospace after weeks or months and find it's still spot on!

Fully agree with you!

The battery change is a bit of a drag but it only happens every so many years. Although I was shocked last time at Breitling - they need six weeks for it ๐Ÿ˜ฑ In the past they could do it in the boutique on 15 minutes but alas no longer. The service culture ...

6 weeks sounds a bit long

Took about half that for my aerospace including new gaskets as I don't want water or humidity to damage the movement.

As saidโ€ฆ

In the past such a service including sending it to Switzerland and back required less than two weeks, now depositing it directly in Switzerland is at over six and counting ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Back then they still all were ๐Ÿ˜

A tad before the SBGR305 and the single logo. Glad you like it ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Looks great!

Love the dial and always really liked the GS hands and their finishing.

And they donโ€™t differ for the quartz ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

They need more torque than for the usual quartz movements but the beauty is also that the seconds hand always hits the marker spot on ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

They are impressive indeed!

Most of the 9Fs are not that difficult to re-source, so keeping fingers crossed you find one again ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
