An unusual Onyx dialled Seiko Grand Quartz reference 9940-7020
I would be lying if I said this watch was on my radar, but when I found it, it fulfilled some very vague criteria I had in mind: black dial, steel case and bracelet (integrated aesthetically rather than physically) and supremely accurate as a daily timepiece running at around +/- 10 second per year.
The last photo features this watch and two other Seikos from a similar period: references 9942-7000 Grand Quartz from 1980 and 9980-8000 Superior from 1979.
