But I wonder if Seiko will be releasing a new Alpinist this year at Baselworld.

But then, I don't follow the news as closely as many. I was just lucky to be on my computer whatever-day-it-was last week when Hodinkee's banner message came floating across the screen. Otherwise I'd be in the same boat as many who missed the chance at MS... 

I hope Seiko doesn't go the route of a huge 50mm cased watch for the next Alpinist. The Alpinist line has always been about traditionally-sized watches (37-40mm) and great everyday watches as well as technical/professional/tool watches. But we'll see in a...
