I really have no idea Pelle and in all honesty, I believe that sky white and polar white are made up by Rolex fans and not official colours as far as I know.
I'd like it better if the ring either matched the dial hue or had a deliberately contrasted background color. (Blue? Gray?) All of which is to say that, as executed, I prefer the more harmonious dial on the Explorer II.
