Like, you I am very taken with these watches. Just found a nice example of a Prince Brancard ( with inlaid white-gold stripes no less).
They really are excellent watches.

Princes came in all shoes and sizes with a multitude of dial and movement variations This is a lovely straight sided piece - love the side engraving which make it stand out from the plain straight sided models As you say , some dials did not have any writ...

I'm going to look up your article. I am really taken by these watches, and would love to track down a stainless steel one in the future. Kind of crazy that in the 1990s, these pieces were selling for 4x more than now.
