Superb photo of one of my very favorite Rolex. This is such a punk rocker, a lovely problem child. ;) Have to five some wrist time to mine, but I favor others this summer....

Most probably regular canvas although i can see how the thickness of a NATO canvas can go well with the 13mm thickness of the AK (nt)
