I have always advised friends to wear a long sleeve shirt or a jacket, if they happen to have an expensive vintage-watch on their wrist. More so, if they are holidaying in a foreign land.
Thank God, he still has his life.
SD 1665 stolen In Naples
a few days ago a SD 1665 with case number 6153792 has been stolen to a close friend of mine in Naples ( Italy ) while in holiday. the watch has been snatched from his wrist while walking in a street but from the assault he has received only small injuries...

Terribly sorry to hear this sad news and we will all keep an eye out for the watch. I am glad to hear that your friend escaped with only minor scuffs. I agree with others that hopefully we can all continue to enjoy this wonderful hobby w/o having to worry...
