A much more wearable watch in my opinion. (Obviously this is subjective, and dependent on where one lives too).
I made a similar choice. In the running for me at the time were a Day Date (but everrose not yellow) and a Daytona (everrose, bracelet). In the end, I opted for a Daytona (everrose) but on the Oysterflex. For me it just was about when I could wear it and the conclusion was the Oysterflex would allow for much more use day to day.
Since the mid 2000s I had also considered a YG Day Date, vintage as the prices were honestly just very good. I looked for the right dial (something special) and came across a few contenders. But, in the end I arrived at the same conclusion as so switched my focused to a WG vintage DD which I ultimately found (after a longer and more difficult search).

The Aquanaut is more classy and looks beautiful with the brown strap and dial and the YM is more rugged and sporty. Time will tell which one will become the true crown of my collection…

Was also a contender but since it doesn’t have a date it didn’t make the final cut. But I really do like the rosegold Daytona with the chocolate dial. And it’s also what you said about being more wearable, there the YM wins for me!

Appreciate the YM line up. After the stel version with the rhodium dial this is a worthy successor and who knows maybe this one will turn out to be my exit watch…😬

With you that the YM is probably my favourite model from the current Rolex collection. Since I am not wearing a suit anymore for years now the YM can go with anything I wear or at any occasion. It is truly a versatile watch to me.

wore the watch while arriving in Paris, this YM will get more attention, but if not that would be ok because I also love the fact that you hardly see it on other peoples wrists….
