The serial is 1633xx and N7150yy. My nephew will anyhow probably sell the watch. He's a graduate student and after master's will for sure follow his father and go for PhD. So he will face the realities of life: university student can afford only new Rolex...

....it wasn't so much analysis needed really. You made a throw-away comment that made very little sense to me so I had to pose a question..... The original post asked for information about the 6610 red depth. You responded by saying that you knew nothing ...

If you aren't a vintage fan and know nothing about vintage why bother posting rubbish. As for the watch itself--the red depth rating is quite rare and looks like a great example. I didn't spend a lot of time looking at it carefully but with a quick glance...

It seems the shop put their own mark. I do not know why - all I know is that my nephew bought the watch yesterday from an individual he has been dealing before. I understand that this watch is rare. Do you have any kind of guesses how many might be around... 

I m not sure the lume of the indexes is original. The hands are not the correct ones, and they are a big part of the charm ( the original, of course ) of the 6610. But most problematic is that a 163 xxx case number doesn't go with a IV 57 case back. It is... 

....the serial number is not a match to the caseback...so looks like that caseback is not original to the watch. However, the serial number seems plausible for the red dial era....so i would guess the dial and case are original. My serial number puts my w...

Are not correct which they aren't they are a perfect match to the lume -- so must be relume IMHO. Also the red depth rating looks to me like it was added later. Cheers,

to owe even a plain 6610 a red Dept, would be wishing for too much. a very PROUD vintage watch NUT Ed

They have characteristics very typical of the Vietnamese fakes. There are also inconsistencies with the watch. I'm thinking "frankenwatch". MW :-(
