i picked one up
last week. I like the added heft of the watch and date without the cyclops. For every purpose wear the sub probably is the better bet as its a tad thinner and lighter. The buying public seems to agree with me on that. Still like the SD40 and I believe they will disappear new soon.
So should we all get the remaining 116600 Sea Dweller 4000's now?
Produced for only 3 years right? So a future collectors item?
thought crossed my mind ahead of Basel....
.....my initial response was that if i hadn't been motivated enough to buy the watch before it was discontinued, would i find it uninspiring to buy it now? I think its a lovely watch. The best SD from the modern era. But is that enough to make on buy it? ...

Agree with what already others said
Buy what you like, full stop I do not believe this SD will make any owner a higher net worth individual in any foreseeable future...
So, what did you do? You bought the watch?
I liked this watch when it was released, I found it redundant with the Sub C.
