I would double check on the crown guard shape, the band finishing and it really looks more like 304 from your pics. S/N will tell much, engravings between lugs will tell much and check the steel to see if it's 316 or not. Do the simple checks like this an... 

With modern watches, and particularly Rolex, it is very simple to check, double check and even triple check! Best. Nicolas

This watch looks good in the pics. The hands seem the right length. I don't understand the question of 304 or 316 steel. This is not a vintage watch and should be made of 904L steel. Until you see the guts (mvt), it could be a clone.

Only the case is 904L, the bracelet is still 316. I should have made that clear as to what I was refering to in my post. The bracelet looked a bit like 304 and a lot of fakes are made in 304 from Asia. It doesn't make good since to me since 304 tends to b... 

It could be just the photo, perhaps, but still...

when close to the watch with my camera it reduces the magnification, below is another shot from further away. By the way i decided to go ahead with the trade but I am still going to take Y'all advice and take it to a AD and open up the case. Much apprecia...  

Sometimes the lighting has an effect on steel and it's finish. Your earlier pics had me really looking at the crown and finish luster. This pic has less subdued lighting and I see nothing wrong with the watch. A better look at the bracelet markings would ...
