So simple and so unpretentious so honest especially so with the white gold.

I picked the WG because of the day and date wheel colour.. you see those wheels on the RG are plain white and I find it a little too sharp, however on the WG the white wheel are perfectly matching the WG.

Seriously thinking about adding the RG version too. IMHO Just the white date day wheels looks a little too sharp on the soft luxurious tone.

But the RG looks great too!

The contrast helps read it and lets you know it is pure Day-Date.

I have seen the green rose and truthfully it is hard to read as the rose gold hands tend to blend into the dial a lot. The white gives such great contrast.

how about red cherry dial on platinum day date? Too sad the watch is no longer with me and in hand of my dear friend now ...

dear James, and I can fully return this! It’s become my daily watch. And I have to force myself to pull it off and give some other watches enough wrist time. The DD40 wears so comfortably, is so reliable and also so versatile. Perhaps if I will manage to ... 

I am amazed by the reliability and accuracy of the DD40.. the white gold is so versatile. Be careful with the panerai too.. they are sticky too.. hard to peel off.. My 372 is one of my all time favourite watch and once I wore it almost 3 months exclusivel...
