The markers are fine thin gold markers please look at the one @6 o’clock very unusual, the dial looks to be a nice white enamel
There is a very very faint gold Rolex symbol on the gold back case
Is the tang buckle in keeping with the age of this watch?

It looks like a late 30s to 50s Rolex Precision. I believe these models were introduced sometime in the 40s but I've seen them listed as "30s" timepieces.
It should have a Rolex 600 movement (for this age should say something like "Super balance" on one of the winding wheels) they come in a variety of Jewel sizes, most frequent was 15 jewels. As for the dial, it should usually indicate with Swiss or Swiss M...
Found this on the back of the case
Not yet gone to a watch guy to pop the back open will do that soon but in the meantime found this Rolex logo on the gold case at the back ...
