Rolex is a brand that I love, but a couple of things are making me concerned about wearing one:
Number 1: too recognizable. Having to receive questions about how much you paid or wether or not your watch is real is an annoyance I'm sure many of us had to deal with multiple times. Not to mention the fact that for us who live in big cities, the safety concern shouldn't be taken lightly.
Number 2: you just can't get them, unfortunately.
Having said that, I personally plan on wearing my Datejust with caution and discretion when I can.
When I want a dependable and versatile sports watch from the Rolex family, I'll wear my BB58: I can purely enjoy it as a timepiece without dealing with the negative sides of Rolex ownership.
Don't get me wrong, I still want to add more Rolexes to my collection in the future, but in the current climate I feel more comfortable pursuing other brands I love like JLC and Omega.
What do you guys think? Are you more cautious than before about wearing your Rolex watches? Can you live with the baggage associated with the branding?
