Rolex took a hit and saved my wrist
Apr 06, 2019,01:16 AM
So I sell pneumatic components for a living. I was helping an engineer out with a prototype work station where the part is presented, a set of pneumatic clamps activate and hold the part in place, and then operations are done on the part. We vented the air but because of how the valves where configured air was unbeknownst to us still in the lines.
I was leaning on the table to measure a cavity when something happened and the clamps came down full force,
Luckily my watch had slid down over my wrist and took the hit. Around 400 lbs of force. It would have broke my wrist for sure.
Needless to say he put us on specification immedietly

I was pretty excited about it. However when I brought it in they told me it has to get a full service because shards of the crystal where floating around the face.

Iโd consider leaving the watch, damaged as it is, in your office or workshop as a safety reminder. Best, Daniel
