i have many vintage watch's and prefer to keep them original as well.. but i just think the cali dial looks so nice on bubblebacks haha and the cali dial did start in the 30s so it would fit the year.

you are definitely right on getting it serviced, its bin sitting in a jewelry box for 25-30 years... i have had  the same problem with rolex as well but i have a good friend that does watch making so there a great help as well...

hello i recently found a late 30s early 40s rolex bubbleback ref: 2940 serial number 592345 with a gold case and stainless back(see pictures). im looking for any history and or information on the watch. the watch is working and keeping time but occasional...

...I believe it was made in 1938, but I could be wrong. If I am, I'm sure someone more familiar with Rolexes will correct me. I understand your desire to change the dial to something that better fits your taste, but most collectors would much rather prefe...
